Some days writing feels like trying to cut a blade of grass that just keeps growing at three feet per second. Except that there are no roots to pull up as far as I can see, so maybe the metaphor doesn't quite work, but you can see how it would be frustrating. The problem is coming up with new ways to say things, which is what a poet in particular is supposed to do, but I feel like I've used up all the good analogies I have. Then again, every time you think you're out of ideas, life likes to drop coffee in your lap which inspires something else.
