2003-06-25

Went to (finally) see XMen-2 with Jen-Jen last night. It was a great movie, although they didn't do what I thought they would with it. I had figured from the first movie that they were going to have the whole weapon-X thing be a sub-plot throughout the series of movies, but instead it was the primary focus of this one, but that's ok, they can still play with it a little through the rest of the series since it seems Wolverine doesn't remember everything yet. Even Halle Barry (sp?) did an excellent job in this one. The coming of the Pheonix saga in the next movie should be particularly interesting, especialy how they eventually explain the story of the alien and all that. Although truth be told, I'm just waiting to see the girl who playes Jean in the Pheonix outfit, mmmmm. Oh, one other thing about this movie and then I'll stop ranting about it, THEY DID A DAMN FINE JOB WITH KURT (Nightcrawler). They changed one important aspect of the character, making him ultra-religious (in the comics, Kurt has a major grudge against GOD), but that's ok, it really added a nice touch to the character, and gave him the opportunity to look even cooler, with the addition of markings that he calls "angleic markings" or something similar, very cool. That's enough rambling for now.
