A poet is the laziest kind of superhero
We get to have secret identities
Cool little superhero names
And we don't have to
Save the world on a daily basis
Our archenemies are all really shabby
Mostly loud drunks
At the bar we happen to be reading at
And they're intimidated into silence
Easily enough
Or
If we are incredibly vain
Other poets
Who at least have the advantage
Of being able to match wits with us
We fear no otherwordly rocks,
Wood,
Or not-so-complementary colors
In fact
Our only realy weakness
Is that we are often stricken
With bouts of inspiration
Which may occur at any time
For instance
While driving a car
That is about to overheat
Or surving jury duty
It takes all of our will
To overcome the urge
To write something down
When we are in the
Middle of other tasks
